There’s some new Divas in town!

In this just released promo for season seven of Total Divas, which premieres Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 9 p.m., new cast members Carmella, Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss join returning WWE stars Nikki Bella, Briie Bella, Naomi, Maryse, Lana and Natalya for new journeys in and out of the wrestling ring.

“Coming this November, every push and pull brings us closer to the next level,” the promo says.

“This season, the cast travels around the world as they embark on new journeys, cross new thresholds and make difficult decisions about their futures in and out of the ring,” reads Tuesday’s release. “Naomi is hoping to hit the trifecta effect; keeping her marriage fresh to fellow WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso, maintaining a crazy schedule and taking a chance to stand out as the SmackDown Live Women’s Champion.”

The announcement continues, “Veteran cast member Natalya challenges Naomi’s title reign in a heated rivalry for the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship, all culminating in a showdown at SummerSlam, season seven’s most anticipated event. With the stakes higher than ever, the women must put on the best match of their lives.

“Meanwhile, The Bella Twins catch a case of ‘FOMO’ during their time off from WWE. Together, they explore new ventures and contemplate when the best time would be to make their in-ring comeback. Off the heels of her whirlwind engagement to WWE Superstar John Cena, Nikki Bella gets ready to twist and twirl when she receives an offer from Dancing with the Stars that is hard to refuse. While Nikki is celebrating her long-awaited engagement in Cabo San Lucas, her sister Brie Bella is working on balancing the demands of being a new mom to her baby girl Birdie and managing her and Nikki’s burgeoning businesses. To spend more time twinning, the ladies plan a road trip and head to San Diego for the summer with Brie’s husband, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan in tow.
The season seven finale, airing Jan. 31, 2018, will mark the show’s 100th episode!

Season seven of Total Divas premieres Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 9 p.m., only on E!.

Another day, another diva!

With the new and seventh season of Total Divas coming up, WWE Superstar Carmella exclusively chatted with E! News about joining the popular series and teased what fans can expect to see from her life outside the ring.

“I think this is a super exciting time for women in wrestling and sports entertainment and I’m really excited for the world to kind of see what we’re doing in this women’s revolution,” the 29-year-old wrestler told us. “As far as my role on the show, I’m excited to kind of show the world a little bit of the real Carmella and not necessarily the Carmella you always see every week on SmackDown Live.”

Along with fellow newcomers Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax, Carmella will also be sharing the screen with returning cast members Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Trinity Fatu, Nattie Neidhart, Maryse and Lana this fall.

“I was super on board right away,” Carmella explained of her decision to sign on. “Nattie, who I’m really good friends with, she had nothing but positive things to say about being on the show and the opportunities it could possibly bring. As far as just being able to film with your friends and family all the time, she really enjoyed it. I thought, ‘Let’s give it a shot!'”

Of course, it’s not unusual for the ladies of Total Divas to bring their men along for the ride and Ms. Money in the Bank is also joining that club by promising a more personal glimpse at her relationship with WWE Superstar Big Cass.

“People don’t realize that we’ve been together for almost four years now and we’ve kind of kept our relationship very private and no one really knows too much about it,” she said. “We’re on different brands. He’s on Raw and I’m on SmackDown, so we have to deal with the struggle of seeing each other a day and a half out of every week. It is a struggle, but we make it work. I’m excited for the fans to kind of get to know us.”

And even though Carmella admits it’s a “little scary” to put herself out there on reality TV, she’s eager for viewers to understand the surge that’s currently happening in women’s wrestling.
“I’m just really excited for the world to kind of see where the women in WWE are headed,” she said. “There are a lot of firsts happening. We had the very first ladder match for women, the first Hell in a Cell match, the first time main-eventing pay-per-views and it’s just an amazing time for women in sports entertainment, so I can’t wait for the world to kind of see all the hard work we’re putting in, not only outside the ring but in the ring too.”

You probably know her as Ms. Money in the Bank, but soon enough you’ll know her as a Total Diva.

As announced earlier this week, WWE superstar Carmella is joining the Total Divas cast in Season 7, along with Alexa Blissand Nia Jax. The show will be an opportunity to explore a personal side of Carmella that the WWE Universe might not be familar with, including her real-life relationship with fellow superstar Big Cass.

We talked to Carmella shortly after the Total Divas announcement to discuss her role in the show, managing a long-distance relationship, and the Mae Young Classic.

What made you decide to join Total Divas for Season 7? I know you’ve worked with a lot of these superstars in the past, particularly Nattie and Naomi, so did you enjoy the opportunity to spend more time with them?

Of course! I mean, we’re actually always all together on the road, so you know it wouldn’t hurt to just add a camera in front of us. I’m excited because I think this is such an amazing time for the women in the WWE and female wrestlers in general. There’s so much going on in women’s wrestling right now, and I was just excited to kind of show what we do and what we’re all about and I know that Total Divas is about six seasons now and there’s Total Bellas and everything. So I’m excited to kind of share, you know, my story and what I am all about here in the WWE.

Along those lines, past seasons of Total Divas have covered some really personal moments such as Lana’s wedding and Brie’s pregnancy, and when I talked to Nattie, she talked about how she had to put down her cat and how that was a very hard moment for her to film. Are you OK with having these personal events being broadcasted to the public, is that just something you’re used to, being a WWE superstar?

It’s definitely not something I’m used to. Being a WWE superstar, I mean…there’s a difference between Carmella on Smackdown Live and Carmella in real life. But, I mean I guess that is what you sign up for when doing a reality show. So, you know, one of the struggles I’m facing this season is a real-life struggle, with my boyfriend Big Cass, who’s on Raw, and I’m on Smackdown. So, you know, we see each other one day a week if we’re lucky. Sometimes we have to go a few weeks without seeing each other, sometimes we’re traveling on different, separate tours, to different countries. But, I mean, it is what it is, so there’s nothing we can do about it, we make do and we make the most of our time together that we do get. So again that is something that we struggle with, and I’m excited because I think you can kind of get to know us because we’ve been very private with our relationship, a lot of people don’t realize we’ve been together for almost four years. So, I’m excited for people to kind of get to know us and see, you know, what we’re all about.

When I talked to Nattie, she said one of the things she loved about the show was how people can relate to her struggle. Do you think with you and Big Cass trying to do a long-distance relationship, are you glad that you’re getting that out in the open so other people can relate to that sort of situation?

Absolutely, and I think it’s important, you know as a woman, to just show that, you know, I can have a career too. He has a great career at WWE right now but I can have my own as well, and we can both be killing it in our own different shows, but still be able to make time for each other. And, again, it is a struggle, don’t get me wrong. But it’s important, I think, to show you can do it. You can do it all, is it easy? No. But will it be worth it? Absolutely. So I’m excited to show that.

Carmella says it’s a great time for women in the WWE.

Things are going well for the WWE Superstar, member of the “SmackDown” roster and winner of the inaugural women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. On Monday, the 29-year-old pro wrestler was named as one of the new cast members of “Total Divas,” joining the Bella Twins, Natalya, Naomi, Lana and Maryse on the hit E! reality series. (Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss are also joining the show for Season 7.)

TheWrap talked with Carmella — who was a dancer for the New England Patriots and L.A. Lakers before signing with WWE — to talk about her new reality TV gig, the “women’s revolution” currently happening in the WWE, and what it means to be a role model for female fans.

“I am really excited, I can’t wait for the show to come out,” Carmella, whose real name is Leah Van Dale, told TheWrap. “I’m honored to be a part of ‘Total Divas’ and show the world who Carmella is, not only on ‘SmackDown Live’ but in real life.”

TheWrap: Has joining the cast of “Total Divas” become a benchmark that WWE Divas now aspire to?
Carmella: I am not sure it is something we aim for, but I am honored to be a part of it and show the world who Carmella is, not only on “SmackDown Live” but in real life.

This is a super exciting time for the women in the WWE, so I can’t wait for everyone to see the progress that the women have been making over the last few years. This year, there were two women’s matches on the card WrestleMania — it has come a long way and I am really excited for the fans to see what’s in store for the women now.
